Self-Employment And Working For Yourself

Everyday people have to get up early in the morning and drive through rush-hour traffic in all weathers to work at a job they hate. They are constantly being told to do things by their boss that they won't ever see the benefits of and in all likelihood will never receive any gratitude for. You don't have to do that though. Why would you want to spend most of your life working for someone else and doing something that you don't like or want to do? Being self-employed is something that has a lot of benefits.

Obviously the biggest benefit to being self-employed is that you do not have to work for a boss. You don't have to worry about someone telling you want to do day after day. You won't be given mundane tasks to do that you don't ever see the benefits of and yet feel unable to challenge your boss about. You have complete independence and don't have to answer to anyone you don't want to.

The next benefit is that you work your own hours. No more early morning drives to work and no more staying late to work if you don't want to. No more unpaid overtime. You can get up whenever you want to and stop working whenever you want to. Sometimes it might not even feel like work anymore if you are doing something you enjoy doing. You aren't spending your days watching the clock, waiting for 5pm to show up.

You are doing work that suits your interests, and therefore you get all the benefits of it. The work you are doing benefits you and you alone, so that should make you more passionate about the work you do. You hear so many stories of people saying that they don't put all their effort into the job that they are doing and that is because they aren't doing it for themselves. The motivation just isn't there. Whereas when you work for yourself your success depends on the effort you put into your work, so therefore you are motivated to work harder and do the best job that you can do.

There is a lot of hard work that goes into being self-employed. Everything rests on your shoulders; the success is completely dependent on you and what you put into your job. If you become lazy, it will show in your work and your success. If you put in 100% everyday, being self-employed could be the best decision that you have ever made. You will never have to say that you hate your job ever again, and you will start to find that it is easier to go to a job that you love doing.

So if you are unhappy in your 9-5 job maybe it is time that you thought about becoming self-employed, because sometimes you can only become happy by making a big change in your life. Do you want to work for someone else until you retire in your 60s or 70s, or do you want to work for yourself, enjoy a better lifestyle and retire much earlier?
