A technical employment recruiter works in a human resources department or for an employment staffing firm. These professionals recruit and hire technical staff such as programmers, system administrators and computer technicians.

    Education

  1. Educational requirements include a bachelor's degree in one of several disciplines. Employers may consider previous recruiting experience or someone previously employed in a technical occupation in place of educational requirements.
  2. Skills

  3. Because this occupation is required to promote employment job opportunities for an organization, skills include excellent people and sales skills to attract potential employees.
  4. Responsiblities

  5. Responsibilities include advertising job openings, and then receiving and selecting resumes for consideration. This is followed by screening, interviewing and testing candidates being considered for employment, and then extending job offers to selected candidates.
  6. Travel

  7. Responsibilities can involve traveling locally and nationally to interview candidates and attend career  job fairs to promote the organization.
  8. Salary

  9. In May of 2008, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports an average salary of $53,870 per year.
